Known Roaming Issue

When roaming in an AT&T 3G market (currently, outside of Alaska), the HTC Touch Dual will experience problems. This is caused due to the fact that the Touch Dual is a 3G handset and attempts to connect via a 3G connection by default settings. As GCI's network is not a 3G network, the handset fails to register when roaming. GCI recommends you complete the following steps, as we do not have any roaming 3G networks agreements.

The fix is to go to:

  1. Press the green (phone) button on the bottom left of the handheld to go to the phone application.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Options.
  4. Tap Band tab. (It is a partially obscured tab on the bottom of the screen, and you may need to tap the right arrow button to see it.)
  5. Under “Select your network type”, change the setting in the drop-down from Auto to GSM.
  6. Tap Ok.
