Domain Name System: Setup
Overview
Issue
How To
You must first register your name with an
Internet registrar. The registrar will request the following information
to set up name services with you and your Internet Service Provider (ISP),
in this case GCI.
|
Tech Contact Handle:
|
GDA5-ORG
|
|
Primary DNS:
|
vans-1.gci.net, 209.165.131.14
|
|
Secondary DNS:
|
vans-2.gci.net, 209.165.131.15

Once the central registry accepts your domain name, your registrar will forward you an acknowledgment of your request.
You must then notify GCI Internet Services regarding your domain hosting request by email at support@gci.net or call 868-0316 in Anchorage or 1-800-800-4800 Statewide.
Your request will then be managed and processed by an Intregrated Support Representative.
We need to set up domain name services on our name servers, and set up virtual
domain hosting on our web server. This process could take up to 7 business days.
The Internet Customer Support Representative will discuss with you the required information to establish your account. At a minimum the information needed is:
- the domain name you have registered,
- where the website location is (GCI hosting or on your server), and
- if email is required for the domain.
