If I exceed my monthly included amount, does my cable modem stop working? No! The included throughput is amount of data transfer is provided as part of the cable modem plan for each customer. If you use more, your cable modem will continue to function. If you use more, the cable modem will continue to track your data throughput, and you will be billed for each megabyte you use over your included amount.
What does GCI mean by monthly? GCI uses your billing cycle for tracking the monthly usage. Your billing cycle will begin on one of the following days; 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. Your billing and usage counts begins on the day of the cycle.
How do I determine my billing cycle? To determine your billing cycle, look at the invoice date and go back to the nearest 5th day. Example, invoice dated mm/21/yy would be on cycle 20, an invoice dated, mm/06/yy would be on cycle 5.
Why does GCI define included amounts for cable modem plans on its network? In an effort to balance our network and ensure quality service to all our customers, GCI defines included throughput for each cable modem plan. This amount is more than adequate for 98% of our customers.
How can I tell how much throughput I have used?
