Question 5. Why do I need to empty the trash after deleting the email?
This situation is similar to throwing away an item in your house. You
throw it into the trash, and then you need to empty the trash to completely
get rid of the item. When you delete an email message it moves into the trash
folder. If you delete the message by accident or decide you need the email,
this feature provides you a chance to recover the message. Once you empty the
trash the item is completely gone. Click
here for instructions to empty the trash and start at step 4.
With your GCI.net account, you have a total of 5 megabytes (Mb) of space available
for mail storage on GCI's mail server. This limit applies to all of the folders
in your account, including the trash folder. That is why you must empty the
trash. Click
here for instructions on maintaining your WebMail account.

Question 7. Am I limited to 5Mb of email on my computer?
The 5Mb limit only applies to your mailbox on GCI's mail server. Mail messages
that you download and store on your own computer are not affected by the 5Mb
mailbox limit. Be aware that graphics, audio, and video file attachments to
e-mail can use up a lot of disk space quickly -- an mpeg video can be from 2.5
to 10 Megs. If you would like more space for your email, you can upgrade your email account storage too! GCI offers a 2GB or 5GB email storage service that includes our premium email guard service, with prices starting as low $2.99 per month. Click here for more information or to upgrade today!

Question 8. My mailbox on the GCI server is full, what will happen to my incoming mail?
At that point, GCI will "hold" all incoming mail for approximately
4 hours to allow you time to download your messages from GCI's mail server.
If you clean up your box on the mail server within 4 hours, your pending mail
will be delivered to you. Mail that GCI holds past the 4-hour period will be
returned to the sender indicating that the message could not be delivered because
your mailbox is full.

If you account on GCI's web server
is full for over 90 days, GCI will mark your email account inactive. This means
that your account will not receive any new email messages, you will not lose
the email address or username at this time. However, this is the first step
towards the email address to be disconnected from our network. An email account
