Issue

GCI is changing their Domain Server IP Addresses.
This issue will only effect GCI customers using a Static IP.

Any customer who has hard coded the GCI Domain Server addresses in their TCP/IP settings needs to change them before July 15, 2004.

Customers using DHCP do not have to make any changes.

Resolution

If you have hard coded the GCI Domain Server addresses, you need to change them to those listed below. This must be done before July 15, 2004.

The new DNS settings are:

  • Primary DNS: vcns-1.gci.net, 209.165.131.12
  • Secondary DNS: vcns-2.gci.net, 209.165.131.13
Customers using DHCP do not have to make any changes.

The change is necessary to address network issues. Attempts will be made to contact customers with a Static IP and those who have their Domains hosted with GCI.
